Terms & acceptable use

dearly.pet is a free, ad-less place for pet memorials. Using it means you accept the short policy below.

What this is for

This service exists to host memorials for deceased pets. We reserve the right to remove content, with or without warning, if it isn't in the spirit of that. Examples include hate speech, harassment, sexual content, domain parking, irrelevant material, content infringing someone else's rights, content that targets a real person other than the memorialized animal's owner, or anything that would reasonably make someone running a quiet memorial site feel unsafe.

Your data

Your letters, photos, and videos belong to you. You can download a self-contained .zip of everything from the export page on your subdomain at any time.

We try hard to safeguard your data, both by storing it on resilient services and via daily backups. But as a free service, we can't make uptime or durability guarantees. Keep your own copy of anything you can't bear to lose.

Account deletion

You can delete your memorial at any time. While the memorial is hidden immediately, the data is permanently erased after 30 days. Within those 30 days you can sign in to restore it. You may submit a ticket if you wish to have the data erased more quickly.

Reporting abuse

Please submit a ticket to report content you believe violates this policy. Same channel for DMCA / takedown requests. Provide a link to the specific letter or photo when you can.

Limits & quotas

We offer 1 GB of storage per memorial by default but you may ask for more via support if needed. Reasonable use is implied - we may rate-limit or remove memorials that look like spam, scrape farms, or content unrelated to a pet memorial.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, the operator isn't liable for indirect damages from data loss, downtime, or removed content. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the project grows. Material changes will be announced via email to account owners.
